Visualizing Progress

Hello beautiful people! Welcome back! I hope you had a lovely week filled with fun adventures. Nashville is currently experiencing blizzard Jonas and this Florida girl is crazy distracted with the beautiful snow. Without much further ado, lets review the week!

Not going to lie, I did a bunch of tedious paper work this week, hunting down tax information and shipping orders. BUT I finally sat down to do some serious planning for my year. Many of you may know about my planning obsession from Snapchat. I did a massive brain dump of all the things jumbling in my head, got my priorities straight and now I’m taking actions to make those projects happen. I absolutely love this process, especially when I feel overwhelmed and have no idea where to start. It allows me to focus on one task at a time without all of the to-dos swirling in my head. When in doubt, write it out!

Above is my new moleskin planner, game plan book, and a bunch of kawaii stickers. What’s this game plan book? I know, awkward name, it’s a work in progress. The binder clip stack of papers contains all my projects in order of priority and accompanied with actions to take. Included in this manual is my one page plan, highlighting my top projects, goals and values that would make this year amazing to me. The most important part of this one page plan is a paragraph in which I clearly visualize how I want my year to be at the end of it. Every morning I read this paragraph, kind of like a mantra. Here it is:

By the end of this year, I will have explored new depths with my art and contributed helpful resources to the art community. I will be fearless and act without hesitation. I will have learned how to say no and focus on my priorities. My lifestyle will consist of healthy life choices and active exercising. I will have established a good work routine, ending the work day at an appropriate time and paired with restful breaks. I will have a properly managed business and not be over scheduled. Drawventure will have a fun following and actively provide inspiration for rising artists. I will not be ashamed of my dream and aspirations. I’ll be known as the artist who gave it her all!

Writing this out brings me relief and bravery to take on anything. I really do encourage you to write your ultimate vision! A simple paragraph about how you want your life to look like at the end of the year in relationships, business, health, and purpose. I would love to read your dreams in the comments below!! Sending many good vibes!!

P.S. Thank you so much for the lovely comments last week, they really touched my heart!

  1. Excellent advise! I’ve started this year off feeling confused and not knowing how to go about achieving what I want out of life. Being stuck in a admin job has been bring me down (as well as other things) so life has been much fun. I’m going to take your advise and work out a plan to work towards my dream of being a freelance illustrator. Thank you 😀
