Adventure in Nate’s Perilous Challenge

Hey everyone, happy Friday! I have this cool commission I want to share with you today. My task was to illustrate a pin up based on an indie comic called Adventure in Nate’s Perilous Challenge.  When the writer, Hansel Moreno, approached me about this commission, I was super excited to create an illustration based of an adventure video game feel story. He requested I draw Nate in my favorite class, it was a tough decision to make but in the end I chose to draw him as a mage. It might not really show in my work but I’m a real sucker for video games. I don’t really have the time to play games or watch tv, so I express my appreciate by drawing it. Above is a process video of the commission coming to life. Let me know what you think! I had a lot of fun drawing in this style and look forward to working with Hansel more in the future.

Hansel recently launched a Kickstarter for Adventure in Nate’s Perilous Challenge! Already fully funded in the first 24hrs! How awesome is that. Here is your chance to grab yourself a copy of the first chapter along with other goodies.

Portrait Commission

Last month I was contacted by a sweet lady asking for portraits of her daughters. It was incredibly flattering for her to take the time out of her day to tell me she loves my art and would like to commission me. She is the coolest mom ever and spoke fondly of her two adorable daughters. She wanted to surprise them with personalized artwork which she deserves major brownie points for. She also encouraged the arts and cared deeply for her daughters. I had a blast doing the two portraits and listening to my clients story. Getting to talk to people and hear about their life makes creating art so enjoyable. I look forward to doing more portrait commission, it’s a nice change from the commercial freelance I normally do.
