Sketch date with the lovely Julianna on New Years day

Ahoy there matey! Today I have exciting news I’ve been wanting to share with you for a long time. As the new year unfolds, I’ve been seriously thinking about the past year and what I can do to make this year better. Lots of things happened in 2015, between comic convention tours, releasing my art book Juicy Ink, creating YouTube videos and much more.

At the end of the day, for some odd reason, I felt I accomplished nothing and that feeling super sucks. The majority of the art I created is no longer in my possession and off to good homes (thank you kind folks for taking in my art and giving it much care). Since my creations are not in front of me, I don’t feel the fruit of my labor. Where did all the hard working hours go? Did I really do anything with my time? Cue the nervous break down.

All that is going to change, the yucky feelings and questioning my self worth. From here on out, I would like to actively blog about my art adventure, sharing my process work and documenting the thoughts invested into my work. There will be many silly little thumbnails and color studies.

Ultimately, I want to take the time to acknowledge the work I do. Way too often I will wrap up a project already thinking about the next challenge, never taking a break and running full speed ahead. Straight into the ground. A recipe for disaster! This year I wish to slow down and take time to actually celebrate the journey I’m experiencing.

While I have your attention, I would like to take a moment and say thank you. Thank you for always being there and cheering me on. You made last year incredibly marvelous and memorable. I am forever grateful for all the support and love you have given me. May I give you a big hug!?

Moving forward, expect a new blog post at least once a week. I give you full permission to lecture me if I skip a week 🙂 I hope you enjoy the behind the scenes progress and I’m incredibly excited to share this experience with you.

I invite you to sign up for my newsletter for blog notification. Sending much love your way and thank you for being here :3
