Copic Demo Honey Lemon + Giveaway

Hello everyone!! I have a cool demo to share with everyone on my new YouTube Channel! Some of you might have already seen my Copic demo of Honey Lemon — if you haven’t I’d love if you checked it out, and don’t forget to subscribe to the channel so you don’t miss out on any new videos. Here is a downloadable pencil drawing of Honey Lemon to practice with. That way you can skip the time invested in the initial drawing and focus on coloring.

I’m very excited to be starting this new channel sharing art resources, demos, and all sorts of goodies. Watching it all come together has been an exciting experience. I learned so much about filming and editing, and I can’t wait to do more videos and continue improving. There were some funny bumps in the road, like my cat jumping into the frame at least a dozen times.

VictoriaGedvillas_HoneyLemonBehindI would like to say thank you to all my amazing followers on Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook for your incredible feedback and support on this new channel.  It made me really happy and encouraged me to share more. I hope you like the next video — hint hint, it’ll be released over the weekend and will be about inking.

To those who are subscribed to the monthly newsletter, I will no longer be doing freebies as the demo videos take quite a bit of time (it’s an experience seeing over 16 hours of filming and editing compressed into a five minute video). I feel making these videos is a more effective way to give back to the art community and hopefully inspire more people to pursue their dreams. Newsletter subscribers will continue to receive special deals and get first notice on new products. Thank you for participating in the past eight months of freebies, they are still up on my blog if you ever need to download them.

VictoriaGedvillas_HoneyLemonThat’s right I’m giving away my Honey Lemon original drawing. Why? I’m feeling festive! All you have to do is share this blog post and leave a comment with a link of where you shared it. If you’re feeling particularly competitive, you can share it in multiple places for more entries, up to a maximum of three.

It would be super cool if you could also comment on what you would like to see next on the YouTube channel or what you’re struggling with in your own art. You don’t have to if you don’t want to, no pressure 🙂

I’ll announce the winner next Tuesday, December 9th. Good luck!

-Contest Closed-

Thank you everyone for entering in this giveaway! Your enthusiasm has caught me by surprise, you all are amazing! The winner is Liana Hinojosa!!! I would love to see a video with your all time favorite (holy grail) art tools you can’t live without! (i.e. a certain type of paper, or a specific copic marker color). Or maybe little tips and tricks you’ve picked up on as you improved as an artist? I look forward to your future videos! 🙂

  2. Ah! So nice of you to do a giveaway! My shares (entries) are on twitter ( and Pinterest ( I love this art of Honey Lemon!

Also, I am so excited about your Kickstarter, I sure hope you reach your extended goal!
And I love that you have started to share some of your talent with the youtube art tutorial world! I am curious how you come up with your characters. Do you use reference art, or do you create models/characters completely from scratch?

    Happy Holidays!

Thank you so much for sharing Sami! I hope to reach the extended goal too, make the book super awesome jammed packed with extra art. I’m glad you like the new youtube channel too! I love giving back to the art community that has given me so much. We are all artist trying to improve ourselves and its a lot more fun when we do it together.

Good question! This is really silly, but I work with a mirror near by so I can see how a figure is posed. Reference art is great! Recommend using it, but don’t forget to not use it as a crutch. Photos only provide so much information. The best kind of reference is from life. I love drawing at cafes, people are so unique in their style and personalities.

      Happy Holidays to you too!

  3. This was very helpful. I reblogged from your tumblr and I shared a link on facebook. Thank you!
