I can’t express how grateful I am for all those who have helped make this project a reality. It was almost a year ago Juicy Ink was launched on Kickstarter. So much has happened since then between traveling to comic conventions and working on my art. It shocks me how incredibly supportive and kind people are. Most of all, it brings me so much joy to hear this book has inspired others to make art again.

You may be wondering why I decided to reprint Juicy Ink. I have a silly dream of one day having an art book in a shop, gallery, etc. I didn’t have the confidence before but now I believe I can pursue that dream with Juicy Ink. And that is all thanks to you!! BIG HUGS!!! By the time I gained the courage, I unfortunately had no more copies left, since the original print run was very small. I’m opening pre orders to the public to gauge how many people are interested and to help the print production be more cost effective.

Thank you all so much for your support the past few Drawventure Lives. It truly makes me happy and I thoroughly enjoy doing these shows for you.

Hereos Con 2015

torianne00_heroesconThis past weekend I attended my first Heroes Con as an exhibiting artist and I can truly say it was a wonderful experience. The show was filled with incredibly friendly people and extensive rows of talented artists. A huge thank you to all the amazing people that came by the table, your support means the world to me! I really enjoyed talking to each and every one of you.

Torianne00_HanselMoreno_resizedOne of my favorite parts of the show was meeting up with friends I’ve made on Instagram and Twitter over the years. The show also served as a mini reunion with good friends from college, pinup artist Boardinker and indie comic creator John A. Carvajal. They both recently appeared on Drawventure Live this month — if you haven’t seen it yet, make sure to check it out on the Juicy Ink YouTube channel, they both have helpful insights to share. I also got a chance to meet with Hansel Moreno, writer of the comic Adventures in Nate’s Perilous Challenge. A few months ago Hansel commissioned me to create an illustration of the comic’s main character, Nate. You can watch the process video for that illustration here. On the right are sweet treats from him. Hint hint, you can read The Witches Laugh on his website, go read it now!

I usually don’t take commissions at shows since I love talking to the attendees so much, and I like to devote my full attention to commissions, but I thought it would be fun to change it up for once. Below are a two con commissions from Heroes, Dawn from Pokemon and X-23. I’m very thankful for the great requests I receive, I enjoy each one!

IMG_2458Another cool thing I love about comic conventions are sketchbook commissions, I’m a huge sucker for these. It’s a true treat seeing these carefully curated collections jam packed with talent. More so, I’m beyond honored to be a part of each book. Here is a cute Snow White sketch I did for a Disney theme sketchbook.

I couldn’t believe how super nice everyone was at the show, I will definitely return! I just wish I got a chance to talk to more artists and pick up more indie art books. Time flew by so fast I was having so much fun.

Did you attend Heroes Con? Drop a comment below about your favorite parts!

Drawventure May 2015

Can you believe Drawventure has been going on for six months already? I have a very special event in store for you this month to celebrate. I’ll be hosting a live stream on my Youtube channel with special guests Boardinker and Gweakles. I’m very honored to have these talented and driven artists join me. We’ll be talking about art while creating new pieces live, and we’d love to have you there.

The broadcast will begin tomorrow morning at 9 AM Central Time. RSVP for the event via Google Hangout here. It would be incredibly awesome if you could share the event, the more the merrier.

Adventure in Nate’s Perilous Challenge

Hey everyone, happy Friday! I have this cool commission I want to share with you today. My task was to illustrate a pin up based on an indie comic called Adventure in Nate’s Perilous Challenge.  When the writer, Hansel Moreno, approached me about this commission, I was super excited to create an illustration based of an adventure video game feel story. He requested I draw Nate in my favorite class, it was a tough decision to make but in the end I chose to draw him as a mage. It might not really show in my work but I’m a real sucker for video games. I don’t really have the time to play games or watch tv, so I express my appreciate by drawing it. Above is a process video of the commission coming to life. Let me know what you think! I had a lot of fun drawing in this style and look forward to working with Hansel more in the future.

Hansel recently launched a Kickstarter for Adventure in Nate’s Perilous Challenge! Already fully funded in the first 24hrs! How awesome is that. Here is your chance to grab yourself a copy of the first chapter along with other goodies.
